Punter misses out on winning a whopping £10,000 after 91st minute disallowed goal

Punter misses out on winning a whopping £10,000 after 91st minute disallowed goal

Wigan's disallowed goal stopped this punter from winning £10,000.

A punter missed out on a whopping £10,000 after Wigan saw their 91st minute against Stoke City disallowed.

Ollie's nine-fold accumulator nearly came in after he predicted eight results from Tuesday's Champions League and Championship matches.

He bet on Manchester City, who beat Sevilla, Chelsea, who edged past Dinamo Zagreb and AC Milan, who smashed Red Bull Salzburg.

His acca also included victories for Burnley, Watford and Sunderland not to mention draws between Birmingham vs. Millwall and Norwich vs. QPR.

Ollie also had Wigan to draw against Stoke. And that result almost came in until their goal was disallowed.

Wigan thought they had levelled in stoppage time when Tom Naylor bundled home after a melee following a corner.

But the flag was up on the near side, ruling out Wigan's goal to the frustration of Ollie who missed out on a massive £10,465.07 as a result.

Needless to say, his betting slip got people online talking.

One Twitter user wrote: "This is absolutely heartbreaking."

A second tweeted: "Never ever bet on a Wigan game. I've learned that the hard way."

A third added: "Let's all just take a moment to recognise that Ollie here has had a worse night than us."

Another commented: "Ffs that’s gotta hurt."

The Latics, meanwhile, would've climbed out of the relegation zone had they secured a point against Stoke.

But they remain in the relegation zone, having recorded 19 points this season.

Speaking after his side's win at the DW Stadium, Alex Neil said: "We've played a lot better in our last three matches in my opinion for large parts of the game, but the simple fact about football, it's about winning.

"I think over the piece we had the best moments in the game. I thought if anyone was going to win it, it deserved to be us.

"The league table hasn't really settled because everybody's beating each other, so if you end up losing you can drop into that dreaded drop zone and if you win you can bump yourself up into mid-table.

"You don't want to leave yourselves too much work to do as the season develops and we were very conscious of the fact that tonight was a very important three points, psychologically as much as anything else."
