Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain genuinely looks like it might be happening. The story that the Brazilian will leave Barcelona to join the Ligue One giants has dominated the media, with a flurry of reports.

Initially dismissed as nothing more than your average unreliable transfer rumour conjured up by Indykaila and his mob, but things have progressed to the points where reliable journalists such as Mohamed Bouhafsi from RMC, and PSG news source Paris United, are reporting that Neymar will be soon be presented as a PSG player.

The €222 million move (£196 million) will comfortably eclipse the world record fee of £89 million that Manchester United paid to bring Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford last summer.

Barcelona are well aware that Neymar is irreplaceable, but they have of course been heavily linked with his compatriot Philippe Coutinho.

It was initially thought that a primary factor in the Blaugrana being so desperate in signing the Liverpool talisman was in order to please Neymar, and the man himself was reported to have been trying to convince his long-time friend to play with him at the Nou Camp.

However, with the change in situation, he has now reportedly been messaging Coutinho over WhatsApp in an attempt to get him to join him at PSG once his move to the French capital is officially confirmed.

Catalan outlet SPORT have the following to say:

"During his stay in the United States, Neymar dedicated himself to overwhelming messages from Whatsapp to Philippe Coutinho. He asked (and continues to do so) to disregard the offer of FC Barcelona and to do as he join PSG."

How SPORT have got access to the messages of two of the world's most technically gifted footballers is anyone's guess, but it would certainly be quite something to see Neymar and Coutinho both line up at the Parc Des Princes, along with their compatriot Dani Alves, already making his mark at PSG, next season.

Barcelona have had a £72 million bid for Coutinho knocked back by Liverpool, who are adamant he is not for sale at any price.
