Football fans in England will be able to enjoy both the all English Champions League final, between Liverpool and Spurs, and the all English Europa League final, between Chelsea and Arsenal, on free to air media.

In recent years Champions League football coverage in England went from being exclusively on terrestrial television on ITV, to being split between them and Sky Sports and eventually moving exclusively to paid channels on BT Sport.

It has meant that plenty of football fans in England have been unable to watch their team play in the Champions League, or the Europa League where there's the same issue.

With both finals being all English finals next week, the first time any one country has supplied all four finalists, it would have been a shame for many fans to miss out.

On Tuesday though BT Sport announced that the game will be available on BT Apps, the website, via their YouTube channel and free on Virgin Media too.

In a statement on their website Marc Allera, CEO of BT's Consumer division, said, "We want to make BT a company that exceeds our customers' expectations and does a brilliant job for the country.

"With both European finals being all-British affairs, we're going to make them easier to watch for everyone in the UK than ever before as well as being the best-connected football viewing experience our customers have ever had.

"BT continues to offer our customers unrivalled choice - with the best content, the smartest devices, and the latest technology - through partnerships with the world's most innovative companies.

"The launch of HDR maintains BT Sport's leadership in bringing fans the very best pictures and sound following its debut as Europe's first 4K broadcaster in 2015 and its worldwide debut of Dolby Atmos sound in 2017."

Fans wanting to watch on BT or Sky will have to have a subscription but Virgin Media will be showing it free on channel 100.

First Arsenal and Chelsea meet in the Europa Final on Wednesday May 29th in Baku, with Arsenal needing to win to secure Champions League football next season.

Unfortunately it was announced today that safety fears means that Henrikh Mkhitaryan won't be making the trip.

On June 1st Liverpool head to their second Champions League final in a row where they meet Spurs, appearing in their first final, in Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano.

It is set to be a huge week of football for England, and now everyone can watch it.
