Nike drops one of the best designs of the season with stunning 'reverse' PSG third kit

The inverted version of their home kit features PSG's trademark stripe down the middle - but in blue rather than white.

Paris Saint-Germain have released their third kit for the 2022/23 season - and it's a banger.

Designed by Nike, the strip sees the usual PSG colours inverted, with a blue band down the middle of the shirt instead of red and white.

The club are known for their hugely popular kit designs, having also partnered with Air Jordan to produce some real stunners in recent times.

This kit is sure to be in-demand, especially with it being donned by the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Here is the new white strip in all of its glory...

Set to be worn for the first time in tomorrow's (10 September) Ligue 1 match against Brest, the kit sees PSG go back to a classic alternative design after several years of more simplistic concepts.

In a press release, the club explained the thought process behind this year's throwback design: "Designed as a contrast to the home shirt unveiled in June, the Parisian Third kit drew on one of the club's most emblematic shirt designs."

"For the first time the white shirt has a vertical blue band down the middle, edged in red."

The club statement added that it has been made "using 100% polyester from recycled plastic bottles."

On the whole, fan reaction to the new kit has been very positive, with one PSG supporter on Twitter writing: "The new jersey looks awesome".

Another added: Whoever sketched this s***, so much love."

However, not everyone was quite so moved, with some instead failing to see the big deal due to its similarity to the 2022/23 home kit.

A Twitter user said: "Its just the home kit reversed," with a second person adding that the kit made PSG look like "Crystal Palace" - as the London club had a similar-looking away strip last season.

Last season's PSG away kit, which was also white.

Whatever your feelings on the new jersey, it's unmistakably PSG in terms of its design.

The Parisians will debut the strip this weekend, where they are in need of a win away at Brest to try and edge ahead of Marseille in the Ligue 1 table.

Christophe Galtier's side are currently joint-top, having won five of their opening six league games of the season.
