The atmosphere of every stadium in the top four divisions of English football have been ranked with some controversial selections from the noisiest to the quietest.

There are 20 grounds in the Premier League, plus another 24 in each division of the EFL in the Championship, League One and League Two.

Collectively, they make up the 92 clubs in English professional football, before the non-league kicks in below starting with the National League, before going down to the National League North and National League South and the rest of the nation's pyramid.

A list has emerged online where the atmospheres of all 92 clubs across these four divisions have been ranked - with some interesting results on show.

On X, account The 44 has devised six categories to place the 92 clubs in.

Five clubs make it into the 'noisiest category' and three of them are Premier League sides, including Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.

Championship outfits Leeds United and Portsmouth complete the quintet of teams deemed to have the most raucous atmosphere.

In the category below entitled 'very loud', two more Premier League sides in the form of high flying Nottingham Forest and Everton feature, as do Championship trio Birmingham City, Coventry City and Derby County.

In the 'loud' category one more down, five more top flight sides are listed, including Liverpool's home of Anfield, Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, Chelsea's Stamford Bridge, as well as promoted duo Leicester City and Ipswich Town.

Clubs from the Championship, League One and League Two also feature, including Burnley, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday, Bolton Wanderers, Wrexham and Bradford City.

Multiple sides also feature in the 'average' category, including Manchester United's Old Trafford, the AMEX Stadium of Brighton and Hove Albion, and Southampton's St Mary's.

Getting into perhaps the more negative and controversial ranking, the 'quiet' section including current Premier League champions Manchester City, AFC Bournemouth's Vitality Stadium, West Ham United's London Stadium and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And in the category labelled 'library' which suggests they are the quietest grounds in all of the 92, Fulham's Craven Cottage features, as does Championship sides included Blackburn Rovers and Watford, plus clubs in League One and League Two including Burton Albion, MK Dons, Wigan Athletic, Burton Albion, Northampton Town, Crawley Town, Wigan Athletic and Fleetwood Town.
