Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk and Tottenham's Son Heung-min feature in the Premier League 'Team of the Year' for 2022.

Van Dijk and Son, despite scoring in his side's 4-0 win over Spurs on Wednesday, have struggled for form this season.

But their showings last season see them both make WhoScored's Premier League 'Team of the Year' for 2022.

The Dutch defender starred at the back as Liverpool finished second in the league last season.

As for Son, he shared the Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah after bagging 23 goals.

Van Dijk's centre-back partner Joel Matip also makes the XI while Son's strike partner Harry Kane leads the line, alongside Erling Haaland, who has scored a blistering 21 league goals in just 15 matches.

Bernd Leno, who has produced heroics for Fulham this campaign, is the man between the sticks, having kept four clean sheets while making 62 saves this season.

Newcastle United's Kieran Trippier slots in at right-back and has earned seven WhoScored 'Man of the Match' awards - six of which have come this term alone. Manchester City's Joao Cancelo completes the back four.

Leicester City's James Maddison and Man City pair Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri join Son in midfield.

The Belgium playmaker won the PFA Players' Player of the Year award following his superb outings in Man City's Premier League-title winning season.

And, as mentioned above, Haaland and Kane are up front, with the England captain netting 17 league goals last season. He has 15 league goals to his name this season, having improved his tally against Crystal Palace.
