Pep Guardiola's Conversation With Assistant Manager After Conceding Last Minute Goal vs Spurs Was Intense

Pep Guardiola's Conversation With Assistant Manager After Conceding Last Minute Goal vs Spurs Was Intense

He didn't hold back.

Footage of Pep Guardiola delivering an "absolute earful" to assistant Rodolfo Borrell after Harry Kane scored a late winner for Spurs has emerged online.

Manchester City dropped crucial points in the Premier League title race on Saturday as Antonio Conte's side secured a historic win thanks to goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane [2] at the Etihad.

Kane, who was named Man of the Match for his efforts against City, netted a header just moments after Riyad Mahrez converted from the spot. It was a dramatic ending to an eventful clash in Manchester.

Moments after Kane sealed a memorable victory for the Lilywhites, a furious Pep Guardiola was seen pacing on the touchline. In fact, footage has now emerged of the Spaniard giving his assisant a stern word.

As you can see in the clip above, Rodolfo Borrell sits emotionless on his chair as a clearly agitated Guardiola appears to vent his frustration about conceding at such a late stage.

Despite the scenes shortly after Kane's goal, however, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager was satisfied with how his team performed on Saturday afternoon.

“We performed well,” he said. “We were who we normally are. They defended in the 18-yard box. It was so difficult, we had to go outside and after they can run with the quality they had.

“Every time we played inside, we had to go outside and we crossed and for many actions were not there to score. I think we performed well, honestly.

“The first goal was the quality they had, the second was difficult to defend. The third was our mistake.”

Thoughts on that footage of Guardiola's venting to his assistant?
