Arsenal And PSG Produced A Pretty Mind Boggling Statistic Last Night

The first time it's happened in seven years

Thanks to Aaron Ramsey's theatrics following a brush with Edinson Cavani's hand, there were one or two talking points from Arsenal's 2-2 draw with PSG, last night. But one talking point that seems to have escaped people's attention is a pretty impressive stat, the like of which has not occurred in the Champions League for seven years.

Somehow the Gunners and the French champions contrived to have less shots on target than goals scored, thanks to own goals from Marco Verratti and Alex Iwobi making up half of the game's successful efforts.

Such a phenomena (that's not too overblown, is it?) has not happened since 2009 in the Champions League, during a Rangers v Unirea glamour tie in October of that year.

Of course, Arsenal managed to lose 2-1 to Manchester United in the 2014/15 Premier League campaign despite United having only one effort on target. Maybe it's something in the air at the Emirates.
