Anyone fancy John Stones to take a penalty if England head to a shootout at the World Cup?

Why 'The Barnsley Beckenbauer' in particular?

Well, because not one but two penalties he successfully converted while playing for Everton has surfaced, and it's bloody good.

England secured passage to the last 16, along with Belgium who topped Group G, and face Colombia for a spot in the quarter-finals.

Largely thanks to Harry Kane's heroics who has already weighed in with five goals.

Not to mention Stones in the heart of England's defence who has fans hollering: "EVERYONE NEED STONES IN THE MIDDLE!" To the tune of 'Brimful of Asha'.

While being solid at the back, the Manchester City star has also chipped in with two goals. He bagged a brace against Panama.

And it appears he's pretty nifty when it comes to spot-kicks as evident from his penalties during his Everton days.

He confidently stepped up and produced a cheeky panenka on two different occasions.

Is Stones in the conversation to take a penalty if England's knock-out game goes to the distance?

IF, England do go to a penalty shoot-out, reports suggest Gareth Southgate will opt for captain Kane followed by Kieran Trippier, Jordan Henderson, Jamie Vardy, and Dele Alli.

And Southgate has prepared his lads for the possibility of a penalty shoot-out.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday's game, he said: "First and foremost we prepare for the game and we need to make sure we know the areas we can exploit against Colombia, and we know the areas we've got to be prepared for.

"If the game goes beyond 90 and extra time, we're prepared for that as well.

"Plenty of work has gone on for that eventuality. But I go back to the fact that the most important thing about the game tomorrow is that we're prepared for Colombia and how they're going to play, and the way we want to play.

"Now we're in the knockout phase we don't change our preparation, we keep our focus and we play with the freedom we've shown in the tournament in previous matches."
