Vietnam captain Đỗ Hùng Dũng was stretchered off after being on the receiving end of a horror tackle today.
Playing for Hanoi FC against Ho Chi Minh City in the V. League 1, the 27-year-old suffered the serious injury in the first half after his compatriot Hoang Thinh mistimed his challenge horribly.
After a heavy touch from Hùng Dũng, Thinh jumped in recklessly and lunged right in on the midfielder's ankle - causing it to buckle at a sickening impact.

The slow-motion footage from the live feed shows just how horrendous the challenge and subsequent injury were. It's one of the worst we have seen for a long, long time and looked like a definite leg break for Hùng Dũng, who was lay in complete agony.
There was immediate concern from both sets of players and medical personnel soon made their way onto the pitch with a stretchered.
Hùng Dũng received treatment on the pitch for nearly 10 minutes before being carried into an ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital.
Although Thinh apologised to the player while he was being stretchered off, he was unsurprisingly shown a straight red card for the tackle and headed straight down the tunnel.

Hùng Dũng is now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines and will miss Vietnam's important World Cup qualifiers against Indonesia, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates in June.
After play resumed following the shocking injury, Hanoi scored from the resulting free-kick through Do Duy Manh and would go on to win 3-0 after goals from Nguyen Van Quyet and Geovane Magno in the second half.
