The Reds splashed out a massive £75 million to lure Van Dijk away from St. Mary's back in January 2018.
He came at a hefty price because of his form at Southampton where he was probably the best centre-back in the Premier League.
A compilation of the colossal Dutchman in his Saints days echoes that sentiment and it makes for incredible viewing.
Van Dijk arrived on the south coast from Celtic with the English club paying £13 million to acquire his luxurious services.
He was a force at the back in his debut season in the Premier League and continued his extraordinary individual form until he was snapped up by Jurgen Klopp.
The clip below shows off Van Dijk's defensive prowess, his ability to read the game not to mention his superb distribution.

Probably the best CB in the league whilst at Southampton
Needless to say, Van Dijk's highlights at Southampton got fans talking online.
One wrote: "I hate the myth that he apparently became amazing at LFC. He was performing at a world class level for a couple years before that. That's why we paid £75m without thinking twice."
A second said: "VVD whilst at Southampton was head and shoulders above any other CB in the league. That's why he was £75m, and at that he was a bargain!"
A third added: "Artistic Defending. The man who made me appreciate the Art."
A fourth sarcastically commented: "'Only been good for two years' yeah of course he was that's why forked out 75m for him and that's why City & Chelsea were both on their knees for him to join. What a player man."
Van Dijk has enhanced his reputation since joining Liverpool and is widely regarded as the best defender in world football.
