Stoke City's hopes of bringing Robin van Persie back to the Premier League have been dashed.
The Dutchman has reportedly snubbed the chance to join The Potters. Mark Hughes had identified him as a potential transfer target though will now have to look elsewhere to bolster his attacking options.
Reports in Turkey had claimed he was seeking a move away from Fenerbahce but it appears the 32-year-old will remain there following a meeting with the club and his agent.

It's believed that he is on a staggering £240,000-a-week wages, while no clubs were willing to match that offer or anywhere close for that matter.
Hughes may now turn his attention to West Brom's Saido Berahino, who's future is still in doubt amid heavy speculation.
