Almost as much as the Paul Pogba fee

Football agent Vincenzo Morabito has revealed that Arsenal had an £80m bid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang turned down over the Summer.

The Italian agent attempted to conclude a deal to bring Borussia Dortmund's free scoring Gabonese striker to Napoli, but was unsuccessful in his pursuit of the African Footballer Of The Year and has also revealed how the Gunners had failed with their own sensational bid for the former AC Milan man.

Speaking to Radio CRC, Morabito said, "Sometime ago, I called Michael Zorc, Dortmund's director of football, to talk about Aubameyang, but the 'no' was absolutely categorical.

"I know that this summer, Arsenal offered £80 million for Aubameyang, but Borussia didn't want to hear anything about it."

Despite being unsuccessful in their pursuit of Aubameyang, it doesn't seem to have affected Arsenal's season so far, with the Gunners only two points off the top of the Premier League and going strong in their Champions League group, also.
