That Time Emmanuel Adebayor 'Refused' To Give Christian Eriksen The MOTM Award

Incredible scenes.

Back in 2014, after Tottenham Hotspur destroyed Sunderland 5-1 at White Hart Lane, Emmanuel Adebayor and Christian Eriksen were drafted in for a chat with Patrick Davidson of Sky Sports.

Having scored once and set up two goals, Eriksen was voted the Man of the Match and Adebayor was asked to do the honours - as often is the case.

However, given he had scored two himself, the Togolese forward refused to give it to his teammate in one of the most hilarious post-match interviews ever.

"No, I'm going to keep it for myself!" - obviously the former Manchester City striker was joking and he later gave the award to the Dane before asking Eriksen to give him more assists.

Still, we can't help but admire him saying it all with a straight face.

Eriksen is back in the Premier League after signing for Brentford.

Adebayor's reaction the complete opposite to when Liverpool winger Salah was handed MOTM in December 2018.

In fact, Salah made headlines he refused to take the Man of the Match award given to him for his sensational match-winning performance against Bournemouth.

The Egyptian King bagged a brilliant hat-trick at the Vitality Stadium but although he was voted the Man of the Match, Salah wouldn't take it off James Milner.

Instead, in his post-match interview with Sky Sports after the 4-0 win, he told his captain to keep the award to mark his 500th Premier League appearance.

Everyone loved Salah for his classy gesture.
