The goalkeeper should probably have done better with his position but take nothing away from the superb strike from Vela.

The perfect type of goal in the newly-developed rivalry in the City of Flowers and Sunshine and one that underlines just why Los Angeles made him their marquee signing.

Carlos Vela with a GOLAZO into the upper 90. What a start for LAFC. Boateng can't turn that over in that spot.

Carlos Vela is so good. Too good. It's good to see him back in that form he showed way back when.

Vela then netted his second in the 26th minute, this time keeping his cool and supplying a lovely finish with his supposedly weaker right foot.
Have a day, @11carlosV!

He's far too good for the MLS but Bob Bradley and LA FC won't be bothered one bit!
