BT Sport commentator and former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas waxed lyrically about Manchester City's Phil Foden after he plucked the ball from the sky with ease against Marseille.

Goals from Feran Torres, Ilkay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling sealed a dominant 3-0 win against the Ligue 1 side as Pep Guardiola's continued their good run of form in Europe this season.

But it was the performance of Foden that grabbed many people's attention.

The 20-year-old, as he has done on so many occasions in recent months, showcased his incredible talent on the big stage, with one moment in the first-half summing up an impressive performance.

After a Marseille defender hoofed the ball into the air, Foden calmly took the ball down from high, performed a keepy uppy to control it before laying off teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Jenas, who was on commentary, said: "I really hope there's a replay of that touch Phil Foden has just plucked out of the sky..." after the England international retained possession.

Has this lad got velcro on his boots or what?

It was a relatively easy night for Pep Guardiola's side at The Stade VΓ©lodrome and Foden certainly made it look exactly that.

Former Manchester City midfelder Gareth Barry spoke highly of the youngster at full-time.

"He's growing in stature, he's getting that belief that he's gonna be picked," Barry said.

"The more game time he gets he's gonna go strength to strength, probably playing in an unnatural position out wide today - if he's performing there today it just shows the ability he's got."

BT pundit Rio Ferdinand also commented on Foden's "swagger" and "confidence" throughout.

Foden deservedly picked up the Man of the Match award following his efforts in the Champions League Group C clash as City maintain their unbeaten record in this season's competition.

Should Foden start every week under Guardiola?
