Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez form the deadly strike partnership in SPORTbible's star-studded Liverpool and Manchester United all-time combined Premier League XI.

United legend Peter Schmeichel, who is widely regarded as the best 'keeper in Premier League history, takes up his place between the sticks.

SPORTbible's combined XI, which is lined up in a 3-4-3 formation, features United legends Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic alongside Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk.

Van Dijk, who was runner-up to Lionel Messi for the Ballon d'Or last month, has been instrumental in the Reds' success since his £75m arrival from Southampton.

Liverpool star Sadio Mane has fended off fierce competition from United legend Ryan Giggs to make the final cut.

The 27-year-old Senegalese winger has been in sensational form, both this season and last, as the Reds continue their bid to become Premier League champions.

Rooney, 34, became United's all-time record scorer during his incredible 13 years at Old Trafford.

The former United and England skipper won five Premier League titles, an FA Cup, three League Cups, a Champions League and a Europa League before he left the Red Devils.

Partnered alongside Rooney is Barcelona striker Suarez, who had a sensational final season at Liverpool before his Anfield exit in 2014.

The 32-year-old Uruguayan star was unfortunate not to win the Premier League title as the Reds fell two points short of Manchester City in the 2013-14 campaign.

However, Suarez ended the season as the PFA Players' Player of the Year and captured the Premier League Golden Boot after he scored an impressive 31 times in 33 matches.

Liverpool will welcome United to Anfield for a 4:30pm UK kick-off on Sunday.
