As if things couldn't get any worse for the England football team, Gareth Southgate has now turned down advances to lead the side on an interim basis.
FA Chief Executive Martin Glenn had earlier described Southgate as an 'obvious choice', but it is believed the current Under-21 boss has little desire to make the step up to the senior side - even in the short term.
It's another farcical episode to a charade of a summer which has reflected badly on the majority associated with the summit of the England national team setup.
Advert
In all honesty, if I were Southgate I would have fucked it off too. It's an impossible job with next to no chance of glory and a likelihood it will end in humiliation and national ridicule.
Fair play, Gaz.
