Roy Keane's Opinion On Jordan Henderson Going To The Euros Is Both Brutal And Hilarious

Jordan Henderson's inclusion in Gareth Southgate's England squad has not got Roy Keane's approval.

Roy Keane gave his view on Jordan Henderson being included in England's Euro 2020 squad and it's as hilariously brilliant as you would expect.

The Liverpool skipper has been sidelined for the best part of three months following a groin injury he suffered in the Merseyside derby back in February.

Although still not fully fit and lacking match sharpness, Henderson is in Gareth Southgate's 26-man squad and it's been suggested he could have an important role to play off the pitch even if he does not feature.

Keane, however, was not having it one bit and questioned whether the midfielder would be doing "card tricks" around the camp.

Speaking on ITV ahead of England's final Euros warm-up game with Romania, Keane said: "Clearly Jordan's not fit - I don't think he should be involved.

"If he can't start the game against Romania - because physically and mentally today's game won't be that tough for him - having not kicked a ball for three-and-a-half months he can't be right.

"I've heard people say they want him around the place - for what? Does he do card tricks? Does he have a sing song? Does he do quizzes in the evenings?

"What does he do? Jordan's an experienced player. Surely Jordan doesn't want to be around the place as some sort of cheerleader - you want to play and he's clearly nowhere near it."

Southgate has said Henderson, named on the bench, will be involved in today's game and is expected to play the second half at the Riverside Stadium.

As well as Henderson, Harry Maguire was also included despite still not being up to speed going into the first group game against Croatia on 13 June.
