A Manchester City fan launched a scathing rant about Liverpool on a radio show following their defeat to Tottenham.

The Blues trail league leaders Liverpool by a massive 22 points following their sixth league defeat of the season to Spurs, who beat Pep Guardiola's team 2-0 on Sunday.

And after their loss, a City supporter - who goes by the name of 'Statman Gary' - phoned in to BBC 5 Live Sport and completely lost his head.

He went back and forth with Robbie Savage who shut him down on multiple occasions as the City fan said the only reason Liverpool are going to win the league is because of VAR.

BBC 5 Live Sport shared the brilliant clip on social media, accompanied with the caption: "Strap yourself in."

The tweet immediately went viral as the post racked up over three thousand retweets.

"Honestly, the victim mentality from City fans is something to behold. Categorically cannot appreciate how good this Liverpool team is. Will use every excuse possible to negate admission. Embarrassing," one social media user wrote.

A second tweeted: "This is the guy who always calls saying he's a Man City fan. Only ever talks about Liverpool."

A third added: "You have to feel for the City fans who are not loons.. having a whopper like this making a total show of your club live on air."

Liverpool beat Southampton 4-0 on Saturday to record their 24th league victory of the season and they could be crowned English champions at Goodison Park or Etihad Stadium depending on results.

The Reds, meanwhile, resume their incredible league campaign on February 15 when they travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich City.
