Are Liverpool 'bottling' the Premier League title? Well, one Liverpool fan has vehemently denied such claim with a fascinating Twitter thread.

League leaders Liverpool dropped points on Monday night, drawing 1-1 with West Ham United.

Defending champions Manchester City are now just three points off Jurgen Klopp's side after thrashing Arsenal, and they've the chance to regain top spot if they beat Everton, tonight.

Having recorded back-to-back league draws, fans on social media were branding Liverpool as bottlers.

However, a Twitter user has brilliantly defended his side with a series of interesting posts.

"Perception is a funny thing in football isn't it. In the last ten games City have dropped 12 points, we've dropped 7. City have lost to 3 of the teams outside the top 6, we've drawn against 2 of them Yet Liverpool are percieved as the ones bottling it and blowing it."

"Its unquestionable that our performances have dropped off since 2019 started, but theres always going to be bad spells in a season. If (and its a big if) we can play ourselves back into form quickly we're still in a great position. We'll drop points, City will too undoubtedly."

"If the last 2 games were dotted across the season and the league looked as it does now nobody would be flinching, but perception and performances magnify the nerves. Lets get to Anfield on Saturday, no nerves in the stands, lets be confident and hope that transfers to the pitch."

"A good, solid win on Saturday, especially if City drop points in the next 2 games and that perception can change again. This was never gonna be easy, we're Liverpool and we NEVER do it the easy way, but that doesn't mean we won't do it. Keep the faith Reds!"

As the thread points out, City have dropped more points in the last 10 league games not to mention losing to three teams outside the top six.

Liverpool will be hoping for a result on Saturday when they host Bournemouth.

Will Liverpool win the league? Let us know what you think.
