"Eden [Hazard] has finally got his heir and his name is Kai Havertz," one fan said. The Chelsea player impressed in the false nine role.

Kai Havertz produced an impressive display against Everton as a compilation has highlighted his impact as a false nine at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Goals from Ben Godfrey and Jorginho sealed an important 2-0 win for Chelsea as the Blues continue to challenge for a spot in the Premier League top four.

But Havertz, who has been criticised for his lack of impact since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen last September, showed what he was capable of in a Chelsea shirt.

The 21-year-old Germany international helped to open the scoring after his shot took a massive deflection off Everton defender Godfrey.

Havertz also earned Chelsea their penalty opportunity in the second half after Jordan Pickford brought him down.

The former Leverkusen star's fine performance earned him praise from Chelsea fans on social media, too.

"I get super excited for the future, watching Kai Havertz ball so well. The quality and form of Mason Mount is bringing out the baller in him," one fan tweeted.

While someone else posted: "Kai Havertz makes very smart runs. Splits [the] defence wide open."

A third Twitter user wrote: "Kai Havertz has been unlocked. What a masterclass today."

And a fourth fan added: "Kai Havertz was monstrous tonight. Dare I say there's a good player in there?"

Speaking after the 2-0 win, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel admitted that the "trust" they placed in Havertz was rewarded with his performance on the pitch.

He told BT Sport: "We deserved to win. It was a very difficult first half but we controlled it completely.

"Very pleased with Kai. It was the trust we gave him and he used the trust we gave him.

"He is a player who has all the ability to be a dominant figure in [attack] and he stepped up.

"You see the quality of the players and the club. It is a pleasure to be on the sideline and work with the team. Everybody in the club is doing everything to compete at this level."
