Pubs are set to be allowed to be open until 11:15pm on Sunday night in case that the Euro 2020 final goes to extra time and penalties, according to The Sun.

The Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reportedly agreed and signed a deal which would allow pubs to extend their opening time regardless of England's semi-final outcome on Wednesday night.

This deal will be put towards the Commons in the coming days in order to pass this changing of the law which would allow pubs to remain open for an extra 45 minutes than usual.

According to certain reports, several members of parliament were concerned that if the law was not changed, thousands of people would have poured on the streets before the final had even finished.

Whilst England have not guaranteed their place in the final, they are widely tipped as favourites to beat Denmark on Wednesday night which would mean that they would face the winner of tonight's clash between Italy and Spain.

The hospitality sector has been inundated with bookings for England games since the start of Euro 2020 and many landlords will be hoping that England go through this week as people would look to fill the pubs throughout the country.

The Sun revealed that a source within the government said: "As the entire nation comes together to enjoy the Euros final on Sunday, we're putting extra time on licenses so fans can watch the whole game without fear of being kicked out before it's over.

"And we're backing England to make it there."
