Varane, who joined Manchester United in the summer, has won a remarkable four Champions League titles during his illustrious career.
He incredibly won the prestigious competition three years in a row at Real Madrid, bagging the 'Big Ears' trophy from 2015 to 2018.
The Frenchman will be hoping to secure his fifth Champions League triumph at Man United, having recorded their first win of the campaign against Villarreal on Wednesday.
Speaking ahead of his side's come-from-behind victory, he revealed that his teammates call him 'Champions League Varane' due to his prolific record.
He told BT Sport: "Yes, it's true [Champions League Varane].
"Sometimes some fans call me Varane Champions League, so it's funny.
"I like this competition, I know it's difficult to win the Champions League, but every time, it is a big, big challenge."
The 28-year-old added: "You know you have to suffer, you know you have to play games [that are] very difficult, the pace is always very intense, so you have to be focused for 90 minutes.
"The most important thing is you have to believe, you have to believe when it's hard, you have to fight, you have to believe you can do it."
"We are Man United, we have to start the game with the ambition to win."

Varane partnered Victor Lindelof in defence against Villarreal at Old Trafford.
But he has forged a rock-solid partnership with Harry Maguire following his arrival.
