Patrice Evra was booed by Liverpool fans on his West Ham United debut.
The Frenchman signed for the Hammers on a short-term deal following his Marseille contract being terminated after he high-kicked a supporter prior to a Europa League game in November.
After signing on 7 February, Evra had to wait until today to make his debut and receive a hostile reception from the home supporters at Anfield.
Evra was racially abused by Luis Suarez during a Liverpool-Manchester United game in 2011, with the Uruguayan handed an eight-game ban by The FA after being found guilty.
The next time the two met, in the reverse fixture, Suarez ignored Evra's offer of a handshake prior to the game, which angered the Frenchman. When the final whistle blew after United's 2-1 victory, Evra celebrated wildly in front of the former Ajax striker.
Today, the 36-year old was loudly jeered by Reds fans, who were also signing Suarez's name.
Needless to say, there's been a whole lot of reaction on social media, from Manchester United fans but also plenty of Liverpool supporters who don't advocate the booing:
Liverpool won the Premier League fixture 3-1, with Emre Can, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all on the scoresheet for Jurgen Klopp's side.
