Thiago Silva has backed the "almost perfect" Sadio Mane to win the Ballon d'Or following his superb displays for Liverpool.
Mane, who faced Silva twice last season in the Champion League before winning the competition, has been showered with praise from the Brazilian defender as he contends to win the Ballon d'Or.
The Senegalese attacker enjoyed a stunning individual campaign last season as he scored an impressive 26 goals in all competitions - including 22 Premier League goals as he won the Golden Boot alongside teammate Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

He's among the candidates to win the coveted individual prize and ahead of the Ballon d'Or ceremony, Silva has described him as "almost perfect" and says he's deserving of a spot on the shortlist with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk.
"Sadio Mane is a world class player. He is almost perfect. He moves very fast, controls the ball well and is very intelligent in his movements," he said.
"With what he has achieved this year, I think he deserves to be in the discussion for the Ballon d'Or."
Silva isn't the only high-profile footballer who rates Mane. Lionel Messi, who won FIFA's The Best award, voted for Mane as the best player in the world and excluded Van Dijk from his top three.
Meanwhile, Mane has continued his goal-scoring ways in the new season as he has already weighed in with eight goals.
