Manchester United have been panned on social media after some of their fans posed with Manchester City's Premier League trophy.
Over in New York, the Premier League held an event described as "an authentic matchday experience"and plenty of US-based United fans supporters were in attendance.
United's official Twitter account shared images of their fans enjoying themselves, wearing club colours in the form of shirts and scarves.
But then, the penultimate picture completely sums up everything wrong with modern football. Two United fans are happily posing for a picture with the Premier League trophy containing sky blue ribbons.
United have won that very same trophy a record 13 times since 1992 but their last triumph came in 2013 under Sir Alex Ferguson.
And the fact that the trophy held by reigning champions City was there for photo opportunities caused a serious stir online.
United's elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 means they cannot win a trophy this season and are approaching five years without silverware.
The club's Twitter account was also slammed for a "tone deaf" tweet about the team's 'best pressers'.
They shared a clip of some of their players pressing, accompanied with the caption: "Leading the way for our intensity out of possession."
