Things got very ugly!

Sunday's Manchester derby was a feisty affair but it wasn't until after the game that tempers flared big-time, with widespread media reports from leading journalists saying that it kicked off near in the tunnel at Old Trafford.

City completely and utterly outclassed United on their own patch to go 11 points clear at the top of the table and the visiting players made sure they enjoyed the sweet victory.

But Jose Mourinho, the man who once celebrated getting to a Champions League final by running around the Nou Camp pitch and winding up Victor Valdes, was unhappy with the way in which City celebrated in the dressing room. And an ugly 20-man fracas, which sounds much worse than the infamous 'Battle of the Buffet'' between United and Arsenal in 2004, ensued.

As per Daniel Taylor from The Guardian, the story goes that Mourinho was unhappy with the loud music booming from City's dressing room and told them to keep it down.

He then became involved in a heated exchange with Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson, with the two shouting at each-other in Portuguese.

Things escalated in a narrow corridor outside City's dressing room, with police and stewards having to intervene to stop a bust-up that included 20 players and staff from both set of teams.

Punches are said to have been thrown, Jose Mourinho is said to have had a bottle thrown at him as well as being soaked in milk and water, while City's assistant manager, Mikel Arteta, had his eyebrow split open and had blood streaming down his face as things got nasty.

According to reports, Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku, who was at fault for both of City's goals and missed a golden chance to level matters late on, was "prominently involved".

Eventually, thanks to the presence of police and security, the scrap came to a halt. It's a pity that Amazon, who are making a behind the scenes documentary on City, were not granted access by United for the fixture, because the footage they would have captured would have been quite incredible.

There will undoubtedly be more updates to come in relation to the details of the brawl and we'll keep you posted when the developments come in.
