Which club will be represented the most in the World Cup? Well, it's none other than Premier League champions, Manchester City.

The English club have 16 players heading to Russia.

The stars make up countries from England, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Belgium, France, Portugal and Germany.

We're talking English quartet Kyle Walker, John Stones, Fabian Delph and Raheem Sterling who chipped in with 18 league goals, last season.

City's Brazilian contingent consisting of Ederson, Danilo, Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus have also been selected by Tite for the World Cup.

Not to mention Argentina and Belgium pair; Nicolas Otamendi & Sergio Aguero, as well as Vincent Kompany & Kevin De Bruyne.

And a representative from Spain, Germany, France and Portugal in the shape of David Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva.

That's 16 players, more than any other team.

Real Madrid boast 15 players at the World Cup, while Barcelona have 14. Spurs, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain all have 12 players.

Of course, it could have been 17 for City. However, Leroy Sane was dramatically omitted from Joachim Low's final 23-man Germany squad.

Low explained why the rapid winger failed to squeeze in.

"That was a very close decision between him and Julian Brandt, which was made in favor of Brandt. Draxler, Reus and Muller are set.

"Leroy is a huge talent. He will be back again from September. He had not arrived in international matches yet. It was a very close decision. If it was a 100 metre race, it would have been a photo finish.

"There are certainly easier days in the life of a national team head coach than they day where I have to send four payers home.

"These are four players who had merited their place in the provisional squad through their performances 'I spoke to the four players and the disappointment was huge, as you would expect.

"It's as if you are stood at the check in desk for your flight to Moscow, but are then prevented from boarding."

The summer footballing extravaganza is just days away.
