Liverpool have reached their first Champions League final for 11 years and have now reached more European Cup finals than Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United combined.

The five-time winners are out to claim a sixth European Cup in Kiev, Ukraine, when they come up against 12-time European champs Real Madrid, who are aiming to become the first side to win the competition three years in a row.

The Reds' will make their eighth European Cup final appearance at the NSC Olimpiyskiy stadium. United are second in the rankings having featured in five finals, winning three and losing two to Pep Guardiola's Barcelona, Chelsea have won one and lost one, while Arsenal were defeated by Barcelona in their only European Cup final back in 2005/06.

Though they have won the Cup Winners' Cup, Manchester City have never reached a European Cup final - coming closest when they reached the 2015/16 semi-finals only to be knocked out by eventual winners Real by one goal.

The same can be said for Spurs, who have won the Cup Winners' Cup as well as two UEFA Cups but have only been as far as the quarter finals in the top tier competition.

Madrid have won their last seven European Cup finals, with their last final defeat coming against upcoming opponents Liverpool in 1981, in Paris.

Liverpool fans will be hoping history repeats itself, while ending a rotten streak in finals for Jurgen Klopp in the process. The Reds' boss has lost his last five finals as a manager - most recently the 2016 Europa League final to Sevilla.
