Three Former England Legends Invited Onto FA Review

Who can save England?

Another tournament ends and another review begins by the English FA. When is someone going to review the bloody reviewers? This time to help them understand what's gone wrong with the national team they've invited some former internationals.

It seems that every two years the FA are back at it, calling people into rooms to ask "just what went wrong?" and "how can we fix it?" Short term it seems pretty easy, get a manager in who has a plan and can stick to his convictions. Get the team playing that way and any players that can't get rid of them, even if they're a star name, and replace them with someone who can.

If that all sounds far too simple then you're right. Instead the powers that be will be calling in rugby union's Stuart Lancaster, cycling's Sir Dave Brailsford, former Olympic swimmer Adrian Moorhouse and apparently agent Jorge Mendes to help them with their review, madness.

Fortunately they are set to include some actual football people too. With Harry Redknapp likely to receive a call along with England legends Gary Lineker, Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard.

FA chief executive Martin Glenn, technical director Dan Ashworth and FA vice-chairman David Gill are the men tasked with taking out the review of Roy Hodgson's side's failed Euro 2016, which comes on the back of failures at Euro 2000, World Cup 2002, Euro 2004, World Cup 2006, Euro 2008, where England didn't even qualify, World Cup 2010, Euro 2012 and World Cup 2014.

Of course it wouldn't be England if there wasn't two reviews going on at once with the Football Association investigating what keeps going wrong separately to what went wrong in 2016 with current players and former assistant manager Gary Neville answering the questions on that one.

Lads please keep it simple and for the love of god don't appoint Redknapp or Glenn Hoddle as the next manager.
