He might have Premier League, World Cup and Champions League winner's medals to his name but Thierry Henry has received one thing he probably never, ever expected - the title of king.

Arsenal's all-time top-scorer Henry is in Nigeria's capital Lagos to meet competition winners, and also watch yesterday's West Brom v Manchester United match at Landmark Event Centre on Victoria Island.

Whilst on his travels, the Nigerian people decided to award Henry with the honorary title of 'Igwe', which means King, due to his contributions and exploits to football throughout his career.

In order to officially receive his award, Henry was dressed in an official Igbo royalty garb during an event organised by Guinness Nigeria:

He might not have managed to win the Balon d'Or during his playing career but the next time you see him on Sky Sports, you'll know you're literally listening to the opinions of royalty.

What do you think of Henry's new title?

King Thierry has quite a ring to it.
