'The Greatest Of All Time' debates can often be tiresome affairs, no matter what or who is being compared, but we think the readers of France Football have got it absolutely spot on when deciding on who the greatest goalkeeper of all time is.
Italy and Juventus number one Gianluigi Buffon comprehensively won the poll, earning a massive 44% of the votes, with long time France number one Fabien Barthez coming in second with 17%.
Lev Yashin and Oliver Kahn earned 7% of the votes apiece while Iker Casillas and Manuel Neuer gathered 6% each.
While Barthez finishing in second spot is a bit suspect (obviously due in no small part to some very patriotic voting) and the absence of Peter Schmeichel is surprising, there's little arguing with Buffon finishing first given the fact he's not only lifted the World Cup but has also kept 300 clean sheets during his career while lifting numerous Serie A titles and Coppa Italias with Juventus following his world record breaking £31m move from Parma in 2001.
