A LAD has gone viral on social media after making his other half write out a shopping list in football formations.

It's a well-known fact that blokes aren't particularly good at remembering items when it comes to shopping for essentials and so they are sent to ASDA or Tesco with a list.

But Jack Pritchard, a UEFA B licensed football coach, needs more than that. Requiring a much clearer way of of understanding it, his girlfriend Lia has to order the list in the only way he knows: a football formation.

In fact, there are two different systems written out on a line-up graphic and they make for fascinating tactical reading.

You've got a 4-4-2 with bagels, hash browns, bin bags and bacon across the back and tropicana and smoked cheese up top, whereas the expansive 4-3-3 relies heavily on the creative talents from tulips, oranges, sausages and spaghetti.

His tweet has completely blown up online, with over 1600 retweets and over 13,000 likes on the hilariously relatable bit of content at the time of writing.

And Lia used her reply to throw some shade at Jack.

"We recently moved into our first gaff a month or so ago and with it being the festive period she's being asking me to 'nip the shop' on countless occasions," he told SPORTbible.

"It was getting on my nerves so I suggested that with the effort I keep making with travel, she should do the same with her 'shopping list'.

"I got one of my session planners and told her she has to write it in two formations (with guidance the first time of asking). No subs allowed as it encourages her to make brave decisions."

"She didn't mind at all. She obviously saw the humour in it and knew it would be something I'd appreciate.

"She hates football but couldn't be more supportive of my job. I think she probably just switches off when I start talking to be honest."

As the 24-year-old pointed out in his viral tweet, it's quite the midfield battle but where will the 'El Shopping Listico' be won and lost?

He explained: "Interesting match up. The 4-3-3 will need to get pressure at the top end of the pitch to stop long balls into the two centre forwards. I think the 3v2 overload in midfield will be enough to see the 4-3-3 conquer."

Jack, a staunch Manchester United fan who used to play Non-League for 1874 Northwich, has been "very surprised" at the reaction his tweet received but it's getting a bit too much now.

"I only tweeted it as a laugh for my mates to see and then some of the comments from other people have been world class (especially the bin bags being rubbish last week - Luke Vayro).

"The amount of notifications is getting on my nerves now haha!"

We look forward to seeing Lia opting for a 3-2-2-2-1 when it comes to getting the goods in next term.
