Juventus are in need of an adequate replacement for Dani Alves, with the Brazilian defender on his way to Manchester City to reunite with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.

The 34-year old won two Serie A titles and a Coppa Italia with Juventus, as well as reaching the Champions League final last term, but wishes to move on to another challenge and wants to test himself in the Premier League.

That leaves Juve looking for someone to slot in at right-back and already a couple of names have been linked.

According to Goal, Juve will look to Manchester United's Matteo Darmian to fill the void left by Alves.

The Italian defender has become a target for Serie A rivals Roma and Internazionale, this summer, with both clubs hoping to secure a season-long loan move for the former Torino man.

However, Juve may trump them both by making a permanent offer for the 27-year-old, who has failed to establish himself as a regular starter at Old Trafford and would reportedly welcome a move back to Turin.

Both Sky Italia and MARCA say that Juventus want Real Madrid defender to replace their outgoing Samba star on the right side of defence, and directors were spotted meeting with the former Santos man's agent a few days back.

But a third candidate has emerged, with Alex Crook reporting in The Mirror Juventus are targeting Southampton defender Cedric Soares.

The 25-year old joined Southampton in 2015 and has impressed with a series of solid displays on the right side of defence.

Currently in Russia for the Confederations Cup with Portugal, where he is a regular in the side, the former Sporting CP man is attracting interest from Juventus, who are being linked with a £15 million move.

Both Manchester City and Barcelona have also been monitoring his situation, though it's noted in the report that Southampton would be reluctant to sell (how many times have we heard that?).

Speaking about his future earlier this year, he said:

"I'm at Southampton and I'm totally focused here. In the summer we'll see what happens.

"Southampton have treated me very well until now.

"The philosophy of the club is to let players go at a certain moment. It's part of football and it's not just Southampton."

Cedric made 34 appearances for Saints last season and has three years remaining on his current deal at St Mary's.
