Ian Wright Urges Daniel Sturridge To Join European Giants

Sturridge is behind Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi in the pecking order at Liverpool.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has urged Daniel Sturridge to leave Liverpool and move abroad.

The 27-year old is clearly not flavour of the month under Jurgen Klopp, who sees Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi as better options up top for his way of playing. Injuries, poor form and a lack of faith from his manager has seen Sturridge complete 90 minutes on just two occasions this season.

He has been linked with a number of teams, including West Ham - who just can't stop themselves from signing strikers.

But Wright reckons his fellow striker's best bet is to look for a move away from the Premier League and believes somewhere like Paris Saint-Germain, currently third in Ligue One, could be a good fit and help him rebuild his career.

Speaking on The Sun's football podcast, he said:

"He should go somewhere else to revitalise himself. I'm not sure if that will happen in this country. He's been at all the top teams but Arsenal.

"You look at it and think somewhere like PSG that he might look at. I think he is fantastic. He is a super player. It isn't going to happen for him at Liverpool."

With a lack of regular game-time at Liverpool, Sturridge may well be forced into leaving Anfield if he wants to be a permanent fixture in Gareth Southgate's England side.

A lot of lower Premier League teams would surely take a punt on him but could a change of scenery and more specifically a change of country be exactly what he needs to get his career back on track?
