Joey Barton Takes The Piss Out Of Celtic After Red Imps Embarrassment

Joey Barton is wasting no time in endearing himself to Rangers fans, after the former Burnley midfielder trolled Celtic following their embarrassing 1-0 defeat to Gibraltar's Lincoln Red Imps in a Champions League qualifier.

The Scottish champions' new manager Brendan Rodgers could never have imagined that, only a couple of years after almost guiding Liverpool to their first league title in 25 years, that he would be overseeing perhaps the most embarrassing defeat in Celtic's history, in his first competitive game in charge of the club.

Not that Barton had any sympathy for Rodgers, instead taking to Twitter at the final whistle to rub salt in the wounds, much to the chagrin of Hoops fans, everywhere.

The replies were, unsurprisingly, incredibly hostile:
