Manchester United's proposed transfer for Bruno Fernandes has collapsed following interference from club co-chairman Joel Glazer.
United have been linked with the 25-year-old throughout the January transfer window and a deal was reportedly close.
However, Goal are reporting that Glazer pulled the plug on a potential transfer due to concerns of the player's value.
'The Red Devils' chief negotiator Matt Judge and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward attempted to broker a deal until Glazer stepped in.

United offered €50 million up front for the Portuguese international with add-ons taking the deal up to €60.5 million.
The clauses included were reportedly deemed too unrealistic by Sporting, including Fernandes winning the Ballon d'Or.
As a result, the Portuguese club decided to hold out for their original asking price of €80 million.
The move will likely anger United fans who are becoming increasingly vocal with their displeasure towards the Glazer ownership.
It's a bitter blow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side who are in desperate need of reinforcements due to numerous injuries to key players.

They were left empty handed in their pursuit of teenager Ering Haaland earlier this month, with the teenager opting to move to Borussia Dortmund.
United have been linked with bringing players on loan in the last 24 hours, including Inter Milan midfielder Matías Vecino and former striker Carlos Tevez.
It is being reported that Tevez could be brought back Old Trafford on a loan spell until the end of the current season, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport.
Tevez, who has only scored three goals in 10 league games for Boca this season, is not in the plans of their current hierarchy.

And with the striker's contract due to expire in June 2020, it appears United are apparently keen on a move described as "a low cost solution".
It's not the news United fans will want to hear following last night's 2-0 defeat to Burnley at Old Trafford.
The result leaves United six points behind Chelsea in the top four race as pressure mounts on Solskjaer.

Last night's game saw club legend Rio Ferdinand unload on BT Sport, claiming he was 'embarrased' by the performance.
