Dimitri Payet Is Still Not Welcome At West Ham

Dimitri Payet Is Still Not Welcome At West Ham

There doesn't appear to be any way back for the Frenchman.

Dimitri Payet remains unwelcome at West Ham after refusing to play and telling the club he wants to leave.

The Frenchman desperately wants out and his antics have angered those at the London Stadium, with Payet reportedly kicked out of a West Ham players group chat as well as senior players not wanting him back in the first-team set-up at the club.

It's clear that the fans aren't fond of him either. Reports have surfaced that he has had his car vandalised, his windows egged and of course West Ham supporters have put a new spin on their famous Payet chant:

Since his exile from the first-team, West Ham have won two games on the bounce and Payet returning to the fold would likely disrupt the rhythm and spirit in the ranks at present.

According to the Daily Mail, The Hammers are expected to go on a mid-season winter training camp at the start of the February and it's almost nailed on that Payet will not be part of the traveling party.

The belief is that West Ham are planning a trip to the UAE for a few days training following the game against West Brom on 11 February as they have a break from action until 25 February.

And if Payet is still contracted to West Ham by the time that rolls around, he will still omitted from the squad and will not be welcomed on the training camp by Slaven Bilic or the West Ham players.

Payet longs for a return to Marseille, who have had several offers turned down by West Ham in recent times. The latest offer, £22.8 million bid, was rejected by West Ham chiefs and though Marseille's interest had appeared to die down, they are expected to table another offer at the end of the week.

There is a feeling that West Ham will have no choice but to accept an offer for Payet from Marseille at some stage, even if it is below their valuation.

Should the 29-year old remain with the club after the January window, he will continue to be excluded from first-team affairs - including the warm winter training camp West Ham have planned.
