Chelsea Targeting Shock Move For Relegated Player

This would be a strange one.

Champions Chelsea are yet to sign anyone so far this summer, and the latest transfer target for the Stamford Bridge club will come as a major surprise.

That's because according to reports, the Blues are keen on signing Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore.

Recent reports have indicated that the 21-year old is on his way to West Ham in a £8 million deal, but SPORT as well as Darren Lewis from The Mirror reports that Chelsea are planning to hijack the move in what would be a huge shock.

Traore moved to England in 2015, leaving Barcelona after coming through the famed La Masia youth system and making two appearances for the Blaugrana.

The Spain youth international joined Aston Villa for a reported £7 million fee, and suffered relegation to the Championship following a dismal 2015/16 campaign at Villa Park.

After putting pen to paper in August 2016 in his next career move, he endured the same disappointment at Middlesbrough last season, with Boro struggling for goals and finishing in 18th place.

Traore is one of many Middlesbrough players who will be allowed to move on this summer and it appears as though he will again look to play in the Premier League next term, with Chelsea now said to have entered the race.

A move to the title-winners would certainly be a strange one, as although Traore has shown flashes of his quality, he is yet to score a goal in English football and his end product has been heavily criticised.
