As hosts France have won the 1984 Euros and the 1998 World Cup. As well as suggesting they've had far too many competitions in the past 32 years, I'm just jealous as an Englishman, it's fair to say they love a home competition so can they win it again?

A host nation always has an extra boost at their tournament so naturally that gives Didier Deschamps side a chance at winning the Euros, that has been extended to 24 teams for the first time, but then you consider who is in their squad and you realise there's a lot more reasons why they might be victorious on July 10th.

Hugo Lloris, Raphael Varane, Paul Pogba, N'Golo Kante, Blaise Matuidi, Antoine Griezmann, Anthony Martial, Kingsley Coman. There's a lot of extremely talented players in their squad and it's now been announced:

Of course Karim Benzema misses out because his continued legal wranglings with fellow Frenchman Mathieu Valbuena. Hatem ben Arfa is the unlucky man to miss out having been in excellent for this season and forced his way into the squad earlier in the year but the form of Dimitri Payet leaves him staying at home this summer, which is pretty much where he'd have been if he'd have been picked too.

Can Deschamps and France deliver the title to the watching French public?
