UEFA's Goal of the Season has been released and there's one quite incredible omission.
Gareth Bale's awe-inspiring overhead kick against Liverpool in the Champions League has been overlooked despite many people deeming it to be one of the best goals in the history of the competition.
This is the best goal EVER in a final.

On as a substitute, Bale made his presence felt mere minutes after entering the fray in Kiev, acrobatically walloping home past Loris Karius after getting on the end of Marcelo's in-swinging cross.
It left everyone absolute gawking but hasn't made the cut for the goal of the season competition UEFA are running. The reason being? Only one Champions League goal was allowed to be selected and experts opted for Cristiano Ronaldo's overhead kick a couple of rounds earlier against Juventus, his new employers.
OH. MY. WORD! :scream:

Incredibly, both goals were scored in the exact same minute and though most people would probably say Bale's edge it, UEFA clearly think otherwise.
64 - In the Champions League 2017/18, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale scored their bicycle kick goals in the same minute:

The Welshman can count himself very unlucky that his piece of sheer brilliance has not been properly acknowledged by the governing body but we doubt he'll be losing sleep over it.
