Arsene Wenger Has His Say On Kevin Friend Being Removed From Spurs Game

Is he right?

Poor Kevin no Friends at Tottenham. The referee was taken off ref duty at Spurs this weekend because of his affiliation to Leicester City football club. However Arsene Wenger thinks the decision to replace him wasn't the right one.

Spurs take on Stoke on Monday, when they could once again start the game 10 points behind league leaders Leicester, and Friend was supposed to officiate but due to the fact he's a Leicester fan he's been taken off duty.

However Arsene Wenger thinks the move not only gives power to social media, Spurs fans on Twitter were the first to notice the situation, and also calls into question Friend and other referee's integrity, saying:

"I am completely against it [the decision].

"The referees are professional and you have to be impartial. I have always been against the rule. Social media does not dictate what happens.

"People have the responsibility to make the decision and I am very surprised."

A cynic might suggest that Wenger's annoyed because he feels that Arsenal can still catch Spurs and even Leicester however the Frenchman does have a point about other people picking the refs and questioning their impartiality isn't a good route to go down.

We hope the title doesn't come down to any dodgy refereeing decisions for any team.
