Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold 'forgot they were at Anfield' before Palace KO, the footage is hilarious

Salah had to give Alexander-Arnold a little shove to get a move on.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah completely forgot they were at Anfield in front of 52,000 supporters ahead of Liverpool's clash with Crystal Palace. Check out the footage below:

The Reds slipped to a 1-1 draw on Monday evening and that makes it two points from two games, following a 2-2 thriller against Fulham on the opening weekend.

Darwin Nunez's red card for headbutting Eagles defender Joachim Andersen was obviously the main talking point on his first home start.

However, an amusing video involving Alexander-Arnold and Salah right before kick-off has emerged online.

Traditionally, the home team shakes hands with officials and the visiting side as the Premier League anthem plays in the background.

We rarely see this on TV as it's when team news and line-ups are usually ran down.

Alexander-Arnold and Salah were the final two players for Liverpool and the former wasn't paying attention to Nunez next to him setting off.

The 23-year-old stays stood still, looking out into the stands. Salah takes a glance to his right and notices the rest of the squad making their way down the pitch.

He gives Alexander-Arnold a little push and it immediately clicks, he's about to play a game of football.

Fans have reacted to the incident and they think the pair were completely lost in the clouds.

One person commented: "Trent having no awareness, shock."

Another said: "Wonder what Trent's thinking about he looks focused."

A third put: "They were thinking 'bro, how are we gonna win without Sadio Mane?'"

While someone tweeted: "My guys were living in the moment."

Wilfried Zaha gave Palace the lead just before halftime, despite Liverpool's dominance.

Nunez was given his marching orders 12 minutes after the restart and it seemed to kick Jurgen Klopp's men into another gear.

Four minutes later, Luis Diaz levelled with a sublime solo effort but neither side could find a winner.

Liverpool are currently ravaged by injury and 10 players were missing from the squad, including forwards Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota.

Nunez's red card means he will serve a three-match ban for violent conduct.

He took to social media on Tuesday and said: "Apologies to Liverpool all, I’ll be back. I am aware of the ugly attitude I had. I'm here to learn from my mistakes and it won't happen again."
