Man Utd vs Charlton betting tips: Garnacho to score first, Ten Hag's side to seal semi-final spot

Manchester United take on Charlton on Tuesday evening in the Carabao Cup quarter-final, as they look to extend a seven-match winning run in all competitions.

Erik ten Hag's side will now hope to reach the semi-final of a cup they last won in 2017 under Jose Mourinho.

To do so, they must defeat League One opposition at Old Trafford, with the Addicks currently 12th in the third tier.

They beat Brighton on penalties in the previous round to set up a bumper clash against United, which will be the first time either side have faced off since Charlton's most recent season in the Premier League in 2007.

Ten Hag has given little away in terms of United team news ahead of the fixture, although did confirm that Jack Butland is in contention to make his debut after signing on loan from Crystal Palace.

Bruno Fernandes is unavailable through suspension, whilst in-form forward Marcus Rashford trained on Monday ahead of the fixture, after playing 90 minutes on Friday against Everton.

Here are the latest odds and predictions (via Sky Bet) ahead of Manchester United vs Charlton.

Man Utd vs Charlton: Winners odds

Unsurprisingly, United are heavy favourites to win tonight's game at Old Trafford. You can get odds of 1/10 on Ten Hag's side to secure victory.

Charlton, meanwhile, are 20/1 to pull off a shock victory. Odds of 14/1 are available for either side to win via a penalty shootout.

Man Utd vs Charlton: First goalscorer

From a United perspective, you can get odds of 3/1 on Rashford to score first against Charlton - although Ten Hag may choose to rotate his squad.

Another option, therefore, could be Alejandro Garnacho (13/2 to score first), given he did not Friday's FA Cup win over Everton, and the absence of Fernandes.

For Charlton, joint league top scorer Miles Leaburn is 16/1 to net the first goal, or 9/2 to score anytime. Midfielder Scott Fraser, meanwhile, has scored five league goals this term, and is priced up at 33/1 to score first, and 11/1 anytime.

Man Utd vs Charlton: Score predictions

Charlton's defence has been one of their weak areas in League One this term, with their 36 goals conceded the joint second-highest of any team outside the relegation zone.

But Dean Holden's side are effective at the other end too, netting on 38 occasions in their 25 games.

That may give the Addicks a fighting chance at Old Trafford, but we expect United to seal their passage through to the semi-finals.

Ten Hag's side to win 3-1 is 9/1, while a 2-0 victory is priced up at 13/2.

If you wanted to bet on a Charlton win, meanwhile, you can get odds of 40/1 for a 1-0 victory.

Man Utd vs Charlton: Other odds

United won eight corners during their 3-1 victory over Everton on Friday, and for them to do the same on Tuesday evening is priced at 10/11.

Furthermore, if Rashford does start the game, you can get odds of 6/1 for the United star to have two or more shots on target in both halves of the game.
