The player is yet to enter a plea and has been refused bail on multiple occasions.

Now, two additional charges have been issued against the Frenchman - who is accused of committing the offences between October 2020 and August this year.

The complainants are four different women over the age of 16.

40-year-old, Louis Saha Matturie, from Eccles, has also been charged with two additional counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

Mendy and Matturie will appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on November 17.

Christopher Stables, Mendy's representative, said at the magistrates' court that the former Monaco man strenuously denies all allegations, as per the Manchester Evening News.

Mendy, who last played for City in the first game of the new Premier League season away at Spurs, was suspended by the club "pending an investigation" in August.

He has also been removed from EA Sports' FIFA 22 while he awaits trial.

The 27-year-old signed for City in a £52 million move in 2017 and has played 75 times for the club.
