Ronaldo made the headlines after United’s win against Tottenham Hotspur.

A video titled: 'Roy Keane is the only pundit who spoke the truth about Cristiano Ronaldo' is going viral after the Portuguese made headlines by leaving early during United’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

In the latest episode of the never-ending drama involving Ronaldo and United, the 37-year-old decided to walk away from the bench and into the tunnel despite the match having a few minutes left to play.

It was later reported that Ronaldo in fact left Old Trafford altogether before the final whistle was blown. This incident unsurprisingly stole the headlines despite a more than encouraging performance from Erik ten Hag’s side to record a 2-0 victory over Spurs.

Ten Hag told reporters that he was going to deal with the issue and on Thursday evening, it was revealed that Ronaldo was dropped from the first team squad ahead of the Red Devils’ weekend match against Chelsea.

Ronaldo himself sent out a message on his social media account, stating that ‘the heat of the moment’ got the better of him on the day.

Now, with his future thrown into even more uncertainty, the video of Keane speaking about Ronaldo’s situation after United’s 6-3 defeat against Manchester City has resurfaced. He was right all along.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the former United captain said: “Man United are showing disrespect to Ronaldo. I think he should've been let go before the transfer window.”

Keane also warned that the situation was only going to get uglier as the season went on, and he is being proved right again.

He added: “It’s just going to get ugly and I think United have shown nothing but disrespect to Ronaldo. They should have let him go when the opportunity came. He did have options to go, I know that for a fact, and holding onto him to sit on the bench… I think it’s ridiculous for a player of his stature.

“Even today, could he have brought him on? Of course, he could've brought him on. So what if you're 4-0 down. If you look at his goalscoring record, he has as good a chance as anyone of putting the ball in the back of the net.

“People obsessed with the pressing side of the game... If you put the ball in the right areas, he'll score goals.”
