Liverpool face nightmare run of games in make-or-break period for Klopp with his job 'under threat'

Liverpool face nightmare run of games in make-or-break period for Klopp with his job 'under threat'

This could decide their season.

Liverpool's April fixtures will seriously test Jurgen Klopp's metal as he attempts to navigate a nightmare run of games.

The Premier League has released its fixture list for the month, and the Reds have been left with the ominous task of playing three of the 'Big Six' in just over a week.

They start the month at the Etihad Stadium against second placed Manchester City. Supporters will be hoping for a repeat of the reverse fixture in October which saw Mohamed Salah score the winning goal at Anfield.

Just three days later, the Reds travel to Stamford Bridge, before finishing the week back at Anfield where they host league leaders Arsenal on April 9.

Klopp's future in doubt

Anfield was left stunned after Real Madrid came back from 2 goals down to win 5-2 on Tuesday evening.

Prior to the match, Liverpool had won consecutive Premier League matches against Everton and Newcastle.

However, Tuesday's poor display has cast a shadow over those results, leaving Jurgen Klopp's future in doubt.

According to Caught Offside, Klopp has come under severe pressure at Liverpool after the humiliating defeat.

One source told the publication that the club's hierarchy had held conversations regarding the manager’s position in the lead-up to the match.

Whilst it was reported earlier in the month that Klopp's future hinged on his performance in the Champions League.

The German would require a miracle if he was to turn it around at the Bernabeu in the second-leg.

The report claimed that Liverpool’s decision-makers have earmarked Bayern Munich boss Julian Naglesmann as a potential replacement.

The 35-year-old has three years left on his deal at the Bundesliga side, but would allegedly “jump at the chance” to succeed Klopp as manager in the Premier League.
