Liverpool fan calling Paul Scholes a 'ginger Mark Noble' is going viral again

The Liverpool fan was asked to give his unpopular opinion and it featured Paul Scholes and Jordan Henderson.

He may have lifted 11 Premier League titles with Manchester United in a trophy-laden career, but Paul Scholes is "nothing but a ginger Mark Noble" and is "nowhere near" fit to lace Jordan Henderson's boots.

That's according to "massive" Liverpool fan Craig, who was asked to name his unpopular opinion in a video that is going viral again, almost three years after it was first broadcast.

Scholes, of course, will go down as one of the all-time greats. He made 718 appearances for Manchester United during a 20-year spell, lifting four FA Cups and two Champions League titles.

And many of the all-time greats have waxed lyrically over the former midfielder.

Zinedine Zidane named Scholes as the toughest opponent he ever faced in his career, while former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry said they were "always, always, always scared" of what he could do.

Former teammate Rio Ferdinand also gave an insight into his talent, saying: "He’ll do ridiculous things in training like say, ‘You see that tree over there?’ – it’ll be 40 yards away – ‘I’m going to hit it’. And he’ll do it." Everyone at the club considers him the best."

But despite all of the honours and praise, Liverpool fan Craig isn't convinced.

"My unpopular opinion is that Paul Scholes is completely over-hyped and Jordan Henderson is a better player," Craig told 888sport.

He added: "I am sick of listening to the 'Gerrard-Scholes-Lampard' debate; Scholes doesn't belong in that.

"Jordan Henderson has been a career of progression. He led the English under-21s, he captained the English national team.

"The man dominates in midfield, can play in any position and every manager he has worked under trusts him implicitly.

"Scholes is nowhere near fit to lace even Jordan Henderson's boots. He's nothing but a ginger Mark Noble and that is my unpopular opinion."

There are no doubts over how far the former Sunderland midfielder has come in the last few years under Jurgen Klopp but to say he is better than Paul Scholes? We're not so sure, and many fans reacted to the clip online.

One said: "Paul Scholes could walk to sports direct right now, don a pair of £20 football boots turn up to a game and he’d still be better than Henderson," while another simply commented: "Blimey."

A third wrote: "Opens Twitter, sees a Liverpool fan say Henderson is better than Scholes, closes Twitter."
