Real Madrid make historic change to their kit that they've never had before

A significant change.

Real Madrid have made a significant change to next season's home kit that has never been seen on a club shirt, it has been reported.

You never really see a great deal of variety in Real home kits, with the club wearing white throughout their entire history.

The shirt has, however, seen various minor details change over the years, with an all-blue collar featuring in the early stages of the 2000s.

This season's home kit, meanwhile, features gold markings and the iconic Club World Cup badge, with Real lifting the trophy in December 2022 following on from their Champions League win.

But according to The Athletic, Real will introduce a major change to their home shirt for the 2023/24 season - a shirt sleeve sponsor.

The sleeve of a Real Madrid home shirt has been notoriously blank throughout their history, but president Florentino Perez has clearly decided to introduce a new feature.

It is reported that Los Blancos have reached an agreement with technology and computing giants HP to become the club's first-ever sleeve sponsor.

Real teased the announcement on X (Twitter) on Thursday, posting a clip of a computer, chair and desk of the Bernabeu pitch. The clip was captioned: "Now."

In the meantime, the club will hope to head into next season with more trophies under their belt.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are currently one point behind La Liga leaders Girona after 21 games played, though will go top if they win their game in hand against Getafe on Thursday evening.

They are also still in the Champions League, where they will take on RB Leipzig over two legs in the last 16 stage.

They did taste defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final last month, however, losing 4-2 to Atletico Madrid in the final of the four-team competition in Saudi Arabia.
